Glitch Art (2017 - Present)
You may wonder what a Glitch Art is, here's my own definition:
"A glitch art is an altered image created without full control over the alteration of its original. Basically, a glitch is an unwanted result."
All images you can see here were made by altering my own photos. For those alterations, I use multiple methods. Breaking the jpeg code, opening the photo with an audio software, programming my own algorithms... The most important part is that the result should not be entirely predictable.
The way we tend to modify pictures to look beautiful, to make buzz makes me sad.
We're building images that can't exist and pretend those are photographs. We're rising human expectations on natural beauty just like fashion did with human beauty. At one point,I remember putting on my sunglasses and I said to myself "Wow, I really prefer this contrast and those colors". I knew that it was partially because the images that I consume in my life were modified to suit our fantasm criteria.
Glitch art is a way, for me, to protest against this constant glorification of prettiness. It is also an apology for playing a role in it.
